Summer Pride
Guelph Summer Pride is a collaboration between a wide range of 2SLGBTQIA+ community organizations, coming together to create spaces where the many communities of Guelph can gather in celebration. Summer Pride uplifts our creativity, joy, resilience, and the many forms of love, identity, and connection that shape our lives.
Taking place during the summer months, Guelph Summer Pride honours the legacy of queer and trans resistance and visibility that has long been associated with Pride celebrations held in June and beyond. This season is often linked to the Stonewall uprising, a pivotal moment in 2SLGBTQIA+ history that sparked widespread activism and continues to influence Pride movements around the world.
Through community-driven events, artistic expression, and opportunities for connection, Guelph Summer Pride creates affirming and inclusive spaces that recognize both our histories of resistance and our ongoing commitment to care, celebration, and collective liberation

Looking to teach your staff or members how they can create a safer space for the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community?
In this training, Myles will guide everyone through diversity and inclusion training covering topics like
✨ Pronoun use
✨ The difference between gender identity and sexuality
✨ The history of what 2SLGBTQIA+ means
We will also go through easy ways you can make changes within your business or organization to make it a safer environment for everyone! Myles does all this through storytelling, creating a safe space for everyone to ask uncomfortable questions and teaching from their lived experience as a sober HIV-positive non-binary person.

Cost: There is a $2 shoe rental required. The event itself is PWYC cash or e-transfer on site.
This is an all ages event. Minors will need their liability waiver signed by a guardian.
Accessibility: All washrooms and change rooms are private/individual and gender neutral at the studio. The studio is at a bus stop. All common/main areas of the studio are wheelchair accessible, and speakers will have microphone. This is a 2SLGBTQIA+ space.

Local History
Guelph-Wellington has a rich past intertwined with 2SLGBTQIA+ history.
What did Guelph’s participation in the fight for queer rights on a local, national, and international scale look like?
Out on the Shelf’s Histories and Records Coordinator Maddox Hunt will guide you through Guelph-Wellington’s queer past, spanning from the early days of organizing in Guelph’s homosexual liberation community (later known as the 2SLGBTQIA+ community) through to the thriving community we have today.

Queer Parents Drop-In
Build Community
In partnership between the Guelph Public Library and Out on the Shelf, connect with other 2SLGBTQIA+ parents and caregivers in a welcoming space. Build community and chat about the adventures of parenthood! Parents are welcome to come on their own or with their children. Toys and quiet activities will be available for children.
